Pole Beans

When I am not painting in my studio, I’m out enjoying my garden. This year I’m trying several new plants including purple tomatillos, 5 different tomatoes, various herbs, and pole beans!

I’ve got five different kinds, all planted from seeds, the tallest one is now officially taller than me! I’ve got Romano Pole Beans, Orient Wonder Yard Pole Beans, Carminat Purple Beans, Kentucky Pole Beans, and Monte Gusto Yellow Beans.

I should be able to start harvesting in a week or two, with so many varieties I have a feeling I’m going to get my fill of beans, maybe I can try pickling too! 😊

  1. Good luck with your garden. Unfortunately, here in the blazing hot Coachella Valley, I’m unable to grow any fruits or vegetables during summer. I finally pulled out my huge cherry tomato plant – which grew from a seed from last year’s plants – as the 117-degree heat was literally cooking the little remaining tomatoes! At least I managed to get a decent crop from late March-late May.

      1. Yeah, I don’t like that, that’s why I stopped growing vegetables a long time ago because it was too much work to keep them and my dogs away! My dogs used to dig up my carrots and beets.
