Yeah, this is kind of weird, or at least different for me. I don’t do simple very often, but I felt this one needed no fluff, no pomp, it’s simply “Slippin Into Darkness”.
The 12″ x 12″ canvas was home to another painting that didn’t make the cut, so I spray painted over it with black, leaving some fun texture from the previous tenant! The rest of the painting was leftover watered down acrylic paint from a pour, the red and green circles are there, just because. πβ€
“Slippin Into Darkness” is a great song by War that I assume most people have heard before? If you have time to watch the video below, check out the fantastic fashions and funky dancing from the good ol 70’s show Soul Train! Which by the way, was cranked up on my TV every Saturday afternoon during said time! πππΊπ
It’s mysterious beauty – hints of other worlds in its depths. LOVE the colors and textures! And great song; good memories! πππππ

Always Soul Train for me, hated American Bandstand. Years later my older brother became infatuated with USA’s Dancin’ on Air

There’s a power within the simplicity that evokes a very careful look I think! Not all simplistic works work that well, certainly a lot of mine don’t, lol! Love the creative re-use reminder, and of course, grew up listening to War & watching any dance show I could get on our late 50s early 60s TV set back then β₯οΈ Going back to your painting, Tiffany – I keep seeing a mingling of animal paw prints and kisses – what a combo! π π

I agree with Chris Lovie-Tyler on the painting, but the song is new to me. Thank you, Tiffany, for introducing me to it.

Thanks a bunch, Margaret! Yes, I have always liked bright colors against a black background, it’s very dramatic, although more difficult to photograph without glare!π

It reminds me of the deep sea and the brightness that the creatures made that God created. It is so beautiful Tiffany. You are so talented. I watched that show too, one did have to know how to get her funky moves on. I loved the talent on the show. Great stuff all around talented Tiffany. Love you sweetie!!
