She’s Gone

Shady Grove 2008-2024

I don’t want to write this post. My heart is broken over the loss of Shady Grove. She was my constant companion, muse, and best friend for over 16 years. She was brutally taken from us on Sunday morning.

The sweetest cat I’ve ever known, she was always gentle and so careful to never scratch me. She never did anything naughty like most cats, she just wanted love and scratches.

She loved to be outdoors, that was her thing. She loved licking water off the leaves, the puddles on the ground, or the bathtub faucet.

Shady was my constant companion, always by or on my side, literally. She would sit and look up at me, lightly tugging on my clothes when she wanted my attention. She didn’t like to be picked up but she loved sitting and sleeping on me.

Crushed. Devastated. I haven’t cried this much in 30 years. We will never be the same without her.

If you have fur babies, please give them some extra love today. ❤️‍🩹😢

  1. I am so sorry Tiffany! I know how much you loved your cat.

We had to put Bella down (I’m sure you remember her from the office) on Friday and I feel lost.

Please take good care of you while you grieve. Chris

  2. Wishing Shady wasn’t taken in the way you described especially since she is the sweetest, considerate, loyal, and loving. Thinking of her, and feeling for you Tiffany and those who were also close to her.

  3. Oh no, Tiffany! My heart is breaking for you. You loved your sweet little Shady and I know she loved you so much. Whenever we open our hearts and our homes to fur babies, we know we have to accept the sorrow along with the joy. We just take those thoughts and push them aside and when it happens, it’s devastating. That’s what having a huge heart means. I’ll be thinking of you, Tiffany. My heart is with you. Big hugs. 🫂 xoxo 🫶🏼

  4. Oh no, this is very sad news! I know from personal experience that losing a beloved pet is one of the most difficult and heartbreaking events in life. They’re truly members of our family, and losing them can be every bit as painful as losing a parent, sibling or close friend. My heart goes out to you Tiffany.
