New Pages

I’ve been playing around with my WP blog format lately, and I am switching to the free version of WP. Along with every other part of my life, I am cutting back. $$$

I don’t know what to expect as far as what I can or can’t do with the free version. I’m a little worried about storage space, I guess I will have to delete old posts? I have a few weeks before it all goes down, I will do some research.

Anyway, from time to time, you folks mention me, my posts or my artwork on your blogs, and I wanted to designate a place to share all the love and kindness! Please take a minute to check out some of the nice comments and shares over the years on the new page Thanks For The Mentions!

I know I missed a few here, so if you can send me the link to your post, I’d love to add it to the list! 📃

I also recently added a Guest Book page for anyone that has something nice to share!

That’s all for today, happy blogging my artistic and talented friends!

  1. You won’t need to delete the posts, as such, since they take up next to no space. But you might have to delete old images. Media option on the menu. Course, if you delete the images, you could well say “what’s the point in keeping the posts?”t to free up disk space, you need to actually delete the images from your media.
You might find they restrict some of the available themes, but it seemed easy enough to find a decent-looking theme that’s free.

  2. The big thing to delete is images. Another artist friend who, I think, uses the free platform, reduces the size of her images. I use the free plan as a website for my books. It works, but over these last few chaotic months, I forgot I had it until I accidentally posted on it and got a “like” I was like, “WTF? What’s that?” Not the smartest tool here… I’ll check out your links. Here’s my free site:

      1. P.S. If you see a book you’d like to read, let me know. I’ll send it to you if I have it. Martin of Gfenn is an artist book but it’s also full of medieval Christianity which is not everyone’s cup of tea, but it was the world at the time…

  3. I am in the same situation as you on WP. I want to downgrade so that I don’t have to pay so much for storage. I have been going through all my old posts, saving them to my computer and deleting all of my first two years of posts.

  4. I switched to the free version about a year ago. I noticed a slight uptick in visitors. I suspect that WP was featuring my site a bit more since I now have WP sponsored advertising.
