I’m In The Show!!!

Last night was the Opening Reception for “The Color of Love” show at Ashton Gallery in San Diego, and I have a painting in the show!

They always have a fantastic turnout at their monthly juried show openings. There must have been close to a thousand people in and out during the 2 hours, it was wall to wall with fabulous art and art enthusiasts!

This exhibit will be on display until March 16th, 2019, if you are in the area, please visit Art on 30th, they are doing wonderful things to support the local thriving art community!

That’s me with my painting “Dagger”

Into The Mystic

I think we are all on some kind of spiritual quest, searching for something that makes sense. I finally found my calling in my artwork. This is what I am here to do! Now, it all makes sense, I know what I have to do. Paint!!!

Cosmic Charlie

Here’s a fun little painting, well, I call anything 12″ x 12″ or smaller little, and this is exactly that. I really love how the blue shows up, almost cobalt, and I don’t know what exactly makes it cosmic, but there is something perhaps extraterrestrial there to me.

Many of those who know me know that I spent a good chunk of my life following the Grateful Dead, and if you don’t know me, now you know that about me! I don’t listen to them nearly as much as I used to, but I always find inspiration in their songs. “Cosmic Charlie” is one of their songs, it’s possibly about an old hippy named Charlie that took too much LSD, I just really like the tune!

Quadrophenia

Definitely one of my favorite paintings. A set of four 12″ x 12″ canvases, pushed together, spray painted, then I added multiple layers of acrylic paint and some pouring medium. Voilà!

In case you were wondering, yes, I was listening to the Who’s Quadophenia album during the making of this painting, also one of my favorite albums!
