My next door neighbors have been doing a massive construction project, literally inches from my workplace for the last nine months. I’ve been wearing noise canceling headphones most of that time.
Making the best of a shitty situation, I turn to music.
Jazz has been an influence and companion to me over the last 17 years, my husband introduced me.
I was immediately drawn to the sultry, sad and gloomy sounds, I also appreciate the soulful horns of Coltrane, the chaos of Mingus, and the intensity of Miles Davis. The more abstract and experimental, the more I like it, go figure!
My paintings reflect my feelings and what is going on in my life at the moment. Mixed with the music in my life, my work expresses my journey. Oh what a journey it has been!

Thank you, we are fine here, about 200 miles south of the fires, but we have experienced massive fires in the past, it can happen to anyone, anywhere in a matter of minutes. 😔

Sorry to hear about the construction. I’ve been a victim of it as well, but not for more than a month at a time. Damn! Love all the bold colors in this painting, and the yellow/gold/orange main color.
