Behind the Scenes

5/7″ Mixed media collage

I’m feeling natural, organic tones, shapes, and colors lately, I suppose in anticipation of Autumn, even though it is still hot and sultry here in San Diego. Monday is my husband’s birthday which has traditionally always been the hottest day of the year, but it looks like Sunday is going to be worse this year by a few degrees!🔥

And since I decided to name this piece “Behind the Scenes” I thought I would share a photo of my “studio” right NOW, unplanned and in all its glorious chaos! Yes, I know where every single thing is!😉

Have a great weekend everyone!!!! 🎨🖌 ☀ 🏈 🍷

      1. It is insane, and I continually wonder why I – or anyone, for that matter – would choose to live here! Granted, Palm Springs and the surrounding area is beautiful, especially in winter, but summers have become unbearable. We used to hit 120 degrees once every few years, but now we’re getting several days every summer. We’ve had six so far in 2024!

    1. Thanks Simon, it’s definitely cozy but it has everything I need at arms reach! The best part is the skylight above me, it provides light during the day, stars at night, and all the birds and squirrels come and drink the condensation that puddles in the skylight so it’s a show every morning! 😂

    1. Oh gosh no, Pete, everything can be reused, repurposed and turned into art! I save everything in the studio, but my personal decorating style is surprisingly minimal! 😉

Speaking of decorating, I believe you may have recently purchased a couple of my paintings on Pixel?? I think those were the ones you mentioned having your eye on a while ago, I hope they turn out wonderful! Thank you again for continued support!

      1. 😂 😂! Well, is it that food is never too far from my mind, or is it never too far from your subconscious, so you just keep on painting it? I can’t help it if I have ‘the eye’ to see your true intentions! 😁

In fairness, as I typed my last message it also occurred to me that I keep seeing food in your paintings. 😋😁 I blame it on two things. 1) tropical fruits are my favourite so vibrant colours will always look delicious to me. 2) I quit eating processed sugar 4 months ago, so I’m even more grateful for fruit now, and… carrots taste sweeter than I ever knew possible.
