Funk and Spunk

9/12″ Mixed media on paper

There are similarities yet many differences in these “twin” paintings, much like people-twins!

Spunk is on 11/14″ paper, and Funk is on 9/12″ paper. Spunk started with a few blobs of orange, blue and pink acrylic paint, then I pressed the clean 9/12 paper into it, lift straight up, and wa-la, twins!

After they dried, I used different mediums including acrylics, pens, oils, alcohol inks, and Brusho Crystals to add various colors, lines, dots, and marks. I really enjoy using Brusho Crystals in my recent artwork because of the vibrant colors and fluidity they provide. And since I’m plugging big corporations with NO compensation, I also really love POSCA pens for signing my work and asemic scribbles!

I hope you are inspired or at least find it an interesting technique to try in your own studio or play area! Have a lovely weekend everyone! โ˜บ๐ŸŒธโ˜€๐ŸŽจ
