Spiders From Mars

20″ x 16″ Acrylic on canvas

Any Bowie fan would, I assume, look at this and say, “oh yeah, that’s the perfect name for this painting!” For the rest of you, I hope you like it!

And if you are a Bowie fan and haven’t seen the “rockumentary” Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars , be sure to check it out, I think it epitomizes David Bowie at his finest!

Jade Galaxy

16″ x 20″ Acrylic & spray paint on canvas

I know, the color combination might be a bit unorthodox, but I frickin love it! I’ve been working on a series of similar paintings this week, and I’ve had so much fun trying different colors together. They all kind of have a “celestial” feel to them, so even though it’s not a song or music related, (that I am aware of) I think “Jade Galaxy” fits this one!

She’s Like A Rainbow

16″ x 20″ Acrylic on canvas

I’ve been working on new paintings for several new shows that I have coming up, most of which I am not able to share yet, but this one I can! Calling it “She’s Like A Rainbow” cause it’s one of my favorite Stones songs, and we have had an awful lot of rain and rainbows here in San Diego lately!

Stay tuned for where you can come see this painting, and the rest of the series in person, I’ve got all kinds of exciting news to share soon!!

Brackish

16″ x 20″ Acrylic on canvas

Testing the waters here…. trying out some different techniques and styles. I really like the flow of this one, and the design just happened. Invigorating, yet calming. Please inquire if interested!

4th Annual Animal Kingdom Exhibit

I can barely believe it! One of my paintings was accepted in Fusion Art’s 4th Annual Animal Kingdom Online Juried Art Exhibit!!! Click here to see the show!!!

I don’t know how many submissions they had, but I do know they received submissions from all around the world including the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Guatemala, the Netherlands, Italy, India, Russia, Poland, Estonia, Spain, Ecuador and Brazil. To say I am honored and proud to have been selected is a major understatement!

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists were invited to submit their best art and photography depicting animals, both domestic and wild.  The artwork could include any animals that live on land, in the sea or in the air.

Here is my little painting! BTW, I have prints available for sale!

“Thick Skinned” 12″ x 12″ Acrylic on Canvas

Dream Catcher

16″ x 20″ Acrylic on canvas

This painting made it’s debut at my solo art show at Pariah Brewing last week! It got a lot of attention, along with a couple other new creations that I will tell you about in a separate post. Here is a link to some of the photos from the show!

Garnet

11″ x 14″ Acrylic on canvas $95.00

Garnet is also known as the Stone of Health. It can help get rid of negative energy and transform them to positive energy. It’s a good gemstone for purification and detoxification, especially when it comes to the blood, heart, and lungs.

Though this is not an actual stone, I’m hopeful that this painting called “Garnet” will help ward off the evil sickness that has been trying to invade my body and lungs for the past few days. I cannot afford to get sick, there are so many paintings to be created!

Physical Graffiti

16″ x 20″ Acrylic on canvas $125.00

This painting actually looks like confetti to me, but to keep on track with the music theme, I’m calling this Physical Graffiti, which also somehow works. I’m talking about Led Zeppelin here, I love that album.

Barfly

14″ x 11″ Abstract Acrylic on Canvas $95.00

Do you remember the Bukowski movie “Barfly”? Back in 1987, I was infatuated with Mickey Rourke, it was a fantastic movie, also starring Faye Dunaway, whom I also adored. This painting kinda takes me there. Not sure why, but it does.

Parakeet

12″ x 12″ $85.00

Another 12″ x 12″ canvas, this one I call “Parakeet”. I don’t know how many parakeets are in this painting, nor am I sure there is one, but that is what I think of when I see it!
