If you’ve noticed my absence, I took a few days off from, well, everything. My husband and I drove up to Los Alamos in California to visit my cousin and her husband for some much needed rest and relaxation. It just so happened that their internet was down the whole time and it rained the first day so we really got to unplug and recharge!
Los Alamos is a small town (population about 840) located in the Santa Ynez valley just north of Santa Barbara known for it’s beautiful rolling green hills and plenty of wineries and vineyards. It’s also earned a reputation for great restaurants, so we definitely eat and drink well when we visit!
I didn’t snap as many photos as I usually do, but here are a few of my favorites just to give you an idea of how lovely our week was! Now, I have a lot of catching up to do! 😉🍷🍇🌹🌳

Sounds lovely! I could definitely use some R&R at some point soon! Meanwhile I’ll just live vicarious through you! 😃 nice pictures, healthy food, nice smiles on your cousin/friend/husband/cousin’s husband? faces

What a great get away. Beautiful photos. It’s a lot different than Los Alamos, NM. Is that your husband with his long hair looking a bit mike me?

Thanks Tim, it’s our favorite place to visit within a 5-6 hour drive, it’s the perfect balance of relaxing, fun, family, and scenery! Yeah, I noticed your hair is also getting long! I love Marks hair long and wild, it’s fun to play with!

It’s very clear that California has had a lot of rain this spring. Beautiful photos. My favorite is the landscape at the top of your post.

Thank you so much, Laura! Yes, the hills were so lush and green, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen that, a treat for sure!

Yes! I was hoping to get some online movie time, especially when it was raining, but alas, the internet was totally down, so we listened to the rain instead! (not complaining) ☺

The universe was insisting on ‘listening to the rain time.’ Glad it was what you needed. 🤓

Thanks Phil, it’s a great place to get away, but I have yet to explore the many hikes in the area, the wineries always get in the way! 😉

Your piece on the wineries just reminded me; we went to our local independent cinema the other day and saw Sideways for the second time. It was a while ago I saw it and it was just as funny and engaging as the first time.

So funny, that was one of the last movies I watched in public, (I’m not a theater person) it is so good! And, yes, Los Alamos is right in the heart of where it was filmed! We are so lucky to have some Sideways experiences of our own! 😂
