Peri Pretty

This painting is the result of doodling some flower shapes and playing with my Arteza real brush watercolor pens, I love the final painting! And since the Pantone color of the new year is Peri, I decided to call it “Peri Pretty”.

      Hi Laura! This paper is new to me and I really like it, it’s from Tavolozza, 140 lb watercolor paper, it’s got some “tooth” 😉

    I’d forgotten about the 2022 color – perfect title, Tiffany! Lovely watercolor ♥️ You like the “tooth” in the paper? Seems easier to scumble the paint with texture I think. Either way, love the festiveness of this! 😊

      Sometimes I like the tooth, but other times smooth works best (like when working with alcohol inks), it just depends on my mood, but I always love creating texture! 😉

        I always thought I’d always prefer tooth, esp heavy texture; and I do still use it & love it; but playing with the absorbent ground, and the rough vs smooth watercolor papers gave me a taste for the smooth flow & feel. I’d never experienced a real smooth surface til I was doing my 1st watercolors this past 2 years or so. So nice to have the variety! Thanks, Tiffany! 😊
