I had done the watercolor painting on paper previously, I loved the flowy, moody colors, but it needed something else. When I spotted the image in a magazine, the colors were perfect, I had to incorporate it into the painting.

As much as I appreciate architecture, buildings, and construction, I’m also terrified of tall buildings. I have reoccurring nightmares about being in a highrise during an earthquake and feeling the swaying, the tipping over, and I wake up just before the whole building crashes to the ground.

Ugh. I’m not trying to be a downer right before Christmas, but maybe that’s part of the reason why these nightmares pop up, too much stress and pressure, everything gets “stacked” up and seems overwhelming. That’s what I’m going with!
