Happy Winter Solstice! After yesterday, the days get longer, and soon we can kiss 2020 good riddance, and enter 2021, the year of positive change and recovery! 😊🙏🥰🌞🙌💖
“Ribbons and Pollywogs” such a silly name, was created with metallic acrylic paint, alcohol ink, pens and, even a balloon. I love the “smushed” veins that appear when you press a balloon on wet paint! You can’t really see the shimmery metallic purple and green paint from this photo, but it looks really cool!
I used to catch pollywogs in the creek behind my house as a kid. Then, I took them home and “raised” them until they turned into little frogs, and then I took them back to the creek and let them go, an early lesson in biology! 🐸
Anyhow, I hope you are enjoying these last few days of 2020! Stay warm, safe, and keep creating!
That is the perfect name. It’s a really fun painting.

Reminiscent of an underwater sea adventure 💙

I can totally see an underwater scene also! The photo doesn’t show the iridescent colors, it’s really cool! 😊💙

A fun picture today. loved it. Being in Christmas mood I see a close up of a Christmas tree, but it could be a underwater scene too. 🙂 I learned a new word today – Pollywog. If translating the Norwegian word for a Pollywog it would be – a rumptroll :))

How fun Tiffany. This is adorable and I remember doing the same thing as a kid. This brings back happy memories. What a precious and lovely piece. I also really like all the seaweed too. Beautiful work dear Tiffany. Sending so much love, hugs and wonderful thoughts for 2021 that they can’t be counted, only enjoyed. Love and hugs, Joni

Tiffany I am glad we share a good childhood memory. I think you have a tender heart that sparkles through your beautiful red hair right on the very ends. Hang on to every good ones and let them draw blue over the sad ones. I love you Joni 🤗💕❤️

Interesting story. I was not attracted (and still am not) to frogs, any kind of insects, warms, etc. Your painting is really having a wonderful explosion of colors. So cheerful, bright and attractive.
I hope you are having good holiday season!

Knew I’d find it if I looked hard enough. Dated on the back helped, mind. You have some great things leading up to this, Tiffany. This is my favorite, though!!!!

Ah, yes, this painting is now yours, Roger! I really do love it too, whimsical and fun, and I’m so pleased it found an appreciative home! Interesting that I posted this exactly 1 year ago!! 😁 🙏

I was fascinated by the balloon skin application. I’ll be trying some of that soon myself. Icy rain here and very chilly. Not that cold (25F) but damp!

Oh yes, the balloon application is highly recommended!! We are actually expecting some rain here for Christmas, but it will probably stay above 50F! 🥶

Above 50F???? Don’t do that to me. We go down to -40 (F/C). It’s horrible. “There’s no such thing as bad weather: only bad and inadequate clothing.” Picket line, January 2007, -35C.

Thank you so much, Phil! Those were great memories, funny, I was just playing in the tide pools at the beach this morning and thinking about the polliwog’s! 😂
