Empathetic Heart

Empathy is critical to our existence and our survival. Some have more than others, but it is imperative that our leaders demonstrate and encourage empathy. I’ve noticed great empathy at the local levels of our government, but I’m not seeing it at all at the national level, which is disheartening. 

I hope you are all staying positive and taking all precautions to stay healthy and to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. I broke out the old sewing machine and started making face masks for family and friends, staying busy and helping others helps me get through these days. What are you doing to stay sane?

    I love the painting. We need more empathy in these times when so many people think the world should only revolve around them.

    Good for you Tiffany. I just got a mask from a woman who makes them for her church and they way the elastic is its too small for my big head. You might want to consider making different sizes. 🧡🧡🧡

      Thank you, Mike! Good idea to make different sizes, I know my husband needs one that will accommodate his newly growing beard, and I’m researching different ways to make the masks that won’t fog up glasses!

        Yes maybe its because of my beard. Bit I don’t think you have to worry about fogged up glasses unless you’re making scuba masks. 🛀

    What worries me is that whilst there are individuals at the top who lack empathy, in our democracy, a great many people believe in them and support them enough to put them in office and maybe even keep them there.
    – Oh, I like the overprinting on the painting – is it overprinted?

      That is my concern here too, Graham, a real concern. The base of the painting is watercolor, then I took another wet, acrylic painting and pressed them together, I love the texture it creates!
