Another 12″ x 12″ canvas, this one I call “Parakeet”. I don’t know how many parakeets are in this painting, nor am I sure there is one, but that is what I think of when I see it!
I really enjoy these 12 x 12 canvases. It’s the perfect size to experiment with new techniques and new color combinations without using too much paint and resources. Also, I find that a lot of people like the price point, especially clients who are just starting their collections. Everyone can make space for a piece of art that captures your heart or evolks a special memory!
I’d like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to my favorite band, The National. I take every opportunity to see them live, traveling when possible, amazing live show, highly recommend them. High Violet is just one of my favorite albums of theirs, I listened to it while painting this, hence the name. Oh Matt Berninger, that voice though, be still my heart!
I think we are all on some kind of spiritual quest, searching for something that makes sense. I finally found my calling in my artwork. This is what I am here to do! Now, it all makes sense, I know what I have to do. Paint!!!

It’s still wet, but it’s for sale! I was going to enter this painting in a juried show with a “love” theme, but I decided to put it on the block instead!
Show your Valentine how much you love them! Local sales only San Diego, CA, this would cost a small fortune to ship, it’s a very, heavy solid frame!
Please feel free to share this post if you know someone who might be interested! Thank you!

I’ve long been a fan of classic literature and I’ve fallen in love with many of the characters that I’ve met in my books. I suppose it’s the hopeless romantic in me, I love getting lost, lost in a book, or lost in my art.
I would like to think that someday my paintings will be considered “classic” and that people will love and admire them for years to come. I love getting lost in this painting!
