It might not really resemble a guitar, but in my abstract mind, that’s what it is! “Guitar Hurricane” is mostly acrylic paint, but I also used some mixed media gel pens in there. The photo isn’t quite picking up the metallic gold that is sprinkled around to give it a little extra gleem!
You might remember my painting “Tumultuous” from a few months back, it got a lot of attention but the original is still available for purchase in my Etsy shop!
You might also know my friend Tim and his WordPress blog “Off Center and Not Even“, he posts entertaining videos and wonderful photography of his interesting life in Albuquerque, be sure to check out his site! (Especially if you like cats and wildlife!)
Back to my story, Tim is also a talented musician, he even builds his own guitars! One day Tim contacted me and asked if he could use my painting Tumultuous as a skin for a Stratocaster guitar he was building, of course I said yes! Below are some photos of the finished product, I think it turned out absolutely amazing! Check out Tim’s post here about the guitar, he actually improved it even more!
This is what happens when artists collaborate with other artists, it’s a beautiful thing!
