August Favorite Photos

Seems like just yesterday I was posting July’s favorite photos! August was a brutally hot and humid month in Southern California, and we are most likely going to have more of the same in September.

Work at the museum continues to excite and overwhelm me, I’m doing my best and it seems impossible to ever catch up.

The kitties continue to provide non-stop entertainment and amusement, they are the sweetest cats! They are great bug catchers and love watching the birds outside from the windows. They have escaped twice now, a brief outside adventure causing kitty-mommy a near heart attack!

      Thanks Gigi! Yeah, when they escaped, Oliver came back in like a good boy, but Remi wanted me to chase her for a while. When I finally got her back inside, Oliver gave her a harsh scolding! He is very protective of her, he’s a good big brother!♥

    do you know Carnitas Uruapan? They’re in TJ but before I left SD, they opened a restaurant I think in Golden Hill. Anyway, it’s great — or was if it isn’t there any more. I love your photos.

      I’m not familiar, I just looked them up and there are two restaurants with that name, in Lemon Grove and in La Mesa, they both look good, I just don’t get out that way too often.

          I put it on my “Restaurants To Try” list. We don’t eat out nearly as much as we used to. I haven’t been down to TJ in years, but in my teens I was there every weekend!😉

    Beautiful butterfly plate. I’m surprised it doesn’t have a Luna moth in the center to go with the phases of the moon around the perimeter. It’s so unusual and the colors really pop against the black background. Thanks for sharing!

      Isn’t that the coolest design? It’s actually my new mouse pad! I had the last one for years, it was one of my paintings made into a mouse pad, so I hated tossing it, but it was getting gross!😂
