Summer Sticky

10/12” Mixed media on paper

It’s been brutally hot and humid in San Diego, and it’s going to be the same for the next few weeks. It’s very uncomfortable. We don’t have AC at home, and we can’t open the windows because the cats will shred the screens and escape. I also work in a huge 100+ year old building without AC. Life is just a hot, sticky mess.

    I’m sorry to hear that you it’s so hot down there for you. Without AC it’s very difficult for sure. Stay cool – both you and your cats! On the plus side, the Farmers Almanac prediction came out yesterday and said that we are expecting to have a wet fall and winter in southern Cal.

      Yeah, I’m a little worried about the El Nino Winter, our infrastructure just isn’t built for a lot of rain. There’s always something to complain about!😉

      Yeah, I never had to worry about our last cat, she was smart enough to stay close to home, but kittens, nope. We have fans all over the house, my eyeballs hate them, but it’s necessary!

        To be honest, each progressive summer is getting rougher to handle. I like warm summers, but our heat is ridiculous. I love our little house, but would move to a somewhat cooler place if we could.

    I didn’t have ac in one of my flats for a few years and it was hard on me. I will pray for you and the circumstances.

    Maybe try to get a window unit for the bedroom?

      Oh, we will survive, only a couple more months of misery, I hope. Our heat and humidity usually only lasts a couple months so it’s hard to justify investing in a window unit, but right now it sounds like a great idea!😉
