Hello, it’s been a minute since I have checked in. Lots of changes in my life over the last week or two, I got a big promotion at work. An offer that I originally turned down, I was eventually coaxed into accepting. It’s a LOT of responsibility, and I have to learn a LOT of new things, fast, with no one to teach me. So, I’m flattered that they have the confidence in me, I just wish I had that much confidence in myself. I need to dig deep to find it.

One of the perks is that I now have a nice big office where I can hang some of my artwork!😊

    WOWl That’s such a beauty!! Energy, vibrant colors, texture – LOVE it!! 👏👏👏👏👏 And omigosh a big promotion!! Congratulations! They’re exceptionally fortunate to have you. Of course you’ll figure it out and be excellent!! I know you have doubts – it’s natural – but pleeeez try not to focus on them. Our “inner voices” are legit stoopid most of the time. Also, here are the good parts of having no one to teach you: (1) You can make the job your own. No cookie cutter stuff. it’s yours! Mold the job to suit your many strengths. Yes, most of what it is may not be changeable but not everything. (2) You won’t have to unlearn someone else’s bad habits. People generally try to teach other people the best way to do jobs but if they’ve also done that job they’ve inevitably developed bad habits or shortcuts that are passed on, too. Not ideal. OK. I’ll stop. LOL…My “career” was in management development, skills training, and process improvement for a large pharmaceutical company. It’s hard to resist giving advice! 🙃 Bottom line: You can do it. You will do it well. And in those difficult times you’re going to have (no matter what) you’ll be able to take some deep breaths & “regroup” in your own space, surrounded by undeniable proof of your creativity and power: your paintings. 🥰
