I’ve been working on this piece all week and not much more. I usually have multiple paintings going on, for some reason I only have the capacity for this one right now. It’s the wooden lid to a great wood box, some day, it will hold treasures, but now, it’s my canvas!

There is so much here to take in and that makes it fascinating because I see something new and different every time I look at it, depending on what happens to catch my eye first that particular viewing.
Your work always fascinates me because i want to understand how you decide what to add, and where it goes, and how the colors go together, and the shapes, and all the different parts – like watching a Bob Ross type video of you painting as you explain the “happy little trees” that live over in this section.
But I also like to think about the magic that happens in your brain as you translate your thoughts to your hands, and just do it because it’s what you know it needs, and you know what color should go where, and how it fits together, because you just know.
Does that make sense?
