Playing with Pixlr

I just started playing with the free version of Pixlr, a cloud-based set of image tools and utilities, including a photo editor with a direct web interface. It’s user-friendly and accessible, making it a good choice for quick edits and tasks that don’t require the depth of Photoshop. Pixlr offers both mobile and desktop versions.

There are a bunch of different effects and of course, AI tools to experiment and play with. You can see how addicting it might be, definitely a time killer, if you have the luxury of extra time, you can check it out here!

My original mixed media collage is below, and then I used the Liquify tool to swirl, twist, enlarge, and shrink, the possibilities are endless!

Yeah, I’m typically not a digital art person, but it was fun to play around!

I think the more we switch up our mediums the more diverse our work can be, I’m all about playing and experimenting!☺

I tried Pixlr and I was able to change colors on a picture of a dog. However, I couldn’t use other tools that I would have liked to.

For some things it looks like one has to pay in order to use certain features

I’ll look for other AI apps when I have more time.

Thanks for sharing Tiffany and have a great week ahead!😊🤗

I just realized you can only save a few images per day for free, they always get you somehow! 😉

One does look like ‘a trip,’ the other is simply gorgeous, colourful art. Both are beautiful.

It brings another dimension to the work. It’s like you’ve added some passages of poured acrylics to your collage – something I’ve been meaning to try myself as I love the effects of liquid acrylics in small doses.

Thank you so much Graham! I would love to see what you come up with when you play with poured acrylics! I haven’t done that in a while, indeed lots of fun!

Tiffany. I am a writer, not a painter, but your description of how you did this piece makes me think you know what you’re doing and that what you are doing is fun.
