May Favorite Photos

May was a very difficult month for me, maybe the hardest time of my life, and that’s saying a lot. It’s hard to believe I haven’t lost my shit completely, but I’m still standing strong. 😉

I have been working to get my mom moved into a memory care facility closer to us because her dementia has advanced drastically in the last few months. Extra challenging because of resistance from her and her husband about moving, dealing with the $$$ and the fact that she lives 2 hours away.

I finally got everything set up for the move, and then I lost my job, (hence, the fire🔥photos). It was totally unexpected and a real slap in the face at the worst possible time.

I haven’t had time to even think about that yet, I have to stay focused, stay strong and get my mom in a safe place, only then can I break down and cry and figure out my next move. One day at a time!

While I’m doing all that, you can enjoy some of the photos I somehow took during May. As you can see, it wasn’t ALL doom and gloom, I can always see the beauty in life, thank god for nature, my friends, my family, and my cat!

Sometimes I wish I could just fly away! 😉

Oh, and my husband and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary the other day, I don’t know how I could do all this with out him! ❤

    Good morning. The photographs are beautiful…and remember the hummingbird symbolises the ‘unseen’ -there to help.
    Oh my I know what you are going through with your Mother….I cared for mine for several years…possibly one of the worst experience i have had. You can cnly do this one small step at a time.
    I found that writing down my ‘true’ feelings every day helped…. I am very glad that you have your husband, cat and artwork.

      Thank you so much Janet, I know I am not alone on this journey, it gives me some comfort just knowing that so many others have been down this road and it is never easy, we do the best we can. I’ve been surrounded by hummingbirds lately, they are always welcome! 😉

    It is indeed tough when parents age and their need for help increases. I helped my parents for a long time until my father ended up in the hospital and passed away. Shortly after, my mother fell at home, was hospitalized, and then ended up in a nursing home as she could no longer manage on her own. She already had dementia then, and now it has progressed quite far. I’m not sure if she even recognizes me anymore, at least not always… 😢 But that’s how life goes. Next, it’s my turn, which is scary… Still, one way or another, things usually tend to work out. Hang in there!

    Sorry to hear you’ve been having such a rough time of late, Tiffany. Life is like that, a continual cycle of both happy events and difficult challenges, except when those challenges become almost more than we can bear. I hope you can get the issue with your mom resolved soon, though I realize the pain and frustrations of dealing with her condition will continue. On a more positive note, your photos are wonderful, as always, and thank goodness for cats! Happy Anniversary too!

    Lovely photos! Sorry about your mom. My father absolutely refused to go into a home, and my stepmother refused to care for him. When we discovered she wasn’t feeding him, a court ordered him into a home. Luckily, he was able to go to a veteran’s home. Otherwise, the cost would’ve been awful.

      Oh my gosh, Dawn, I am sorry you too had to deal with this kind of situation. It is so hard to see the abuse and not be able to do anything about it. I am fortunate that we are finally able to get her to a safe place, tomorrow is the big day. Then, I will have to deal with what to do with him, I’m actually looking into a VA home.

      Thank you Ka, it has been a rough time, but I am staying positive and trying to stay focused. Balance is the key to everything! The fire is in our Solo stove, OMG, the most awesome thing EVER, highly recommended!!! 🔥

      Thank you for sharing, I’m sorry you too are dealing with dementia with your mom, it’s brutal. The first time my mom didn’t know who I was was on my birthday last year! Today, I am grateful every time she knows anything!
