“In The Stars” is another one of those paintings that took some time. There are layers. And layers. And then some more layers. I included scraps of fabric, cut up old paintings, magazine clippings, acrylic, alcohol ink, watercolor, oil pastels, basically everything.
In the end, it’s always about balance. I think I finally achieved it here, and I like the whimsicle fairie like feel of, I’m not sure, is that Natalie Portman?? I found the image in a magazine years ago and tore it out, therefore losing the referrence. 😏
A special thank you for those that listened to my Artist Unmasked podcast interview! I know it was a little long and lacking good sound quality, but for those who stuck it out, I appreciate it!🙏✌🥰🎨
The eyes through the blinds looks almost like a cassette. It’s vibrant. I love it.

Thanks so much! I can’t believe you also saw that as a cassette with an eye!!! That part was cut out of another painting, it was pretty weird, so I had to take it apart!😂

That is the first time I ever heard or thought that, Matt! I will take it, thank you so much for listening! There are so many things out of my comfort zone here, but I think pushing ourselves out is healthy sometimes! 😉

A wonderful podcast, Tiffany. It is exciting to learn about art through the lens of an artist.

Thank you, Joni! It was my husband who said it first, I can’t find it through google, but I do think it’s Natalie! 😉🥰🙏

It’s all about the layers, in life, in artwork, and in life perspectives. I love how you capture the layers in your photographs, and your digital work too, Phil!

Hurray for stars! My grandkids just had some great views of the Perseid showers here. Stars have always carried so much meaning for people!

Yes, a popular symbolism for sure! We didn’t get a view of the Perseid showers here, but I know people who did see it, must have been amazing!⭐😍
