“Psychedelic Fantasy” is a combination of acrylic paint and alcohol inks working together to meld into a colorful and psychedelic tapestry of mandalas.
This painting reminds me of tie dye, which takes me back to my younger days when I followed The Grateful Dead, those were great times for me! I learned so much about music in those days, I was like a sponge absorbing the history of bluegrass, folk, the beat writers, all the music of the 60’s and 70’s, I was obsessed.
It was a great treat when The Grateful Dead had guest musicians play with them, I got to see Dave Matthews, Santana, Bruce Hornsby, Sting, and I was ecstatic when Steve Winwood and Traffic opened for them in Las Vegas in 1994. I have always loved this song “Dear Mr. Fantasy” and I do believe it is appropriate these days, we could all use something to “take us out of this gloom”!
