Mod Podge

11″ x 14″ Mixed media on canvas

I was just reading a post from follow blogger and artist Judith at Artistcoveris about “leftover” art. That is pretty much what this painting is, but I’m calling it a “Mod Podge”!

Like Judith, I never throw anything out, I save little strips of tissue paper, images, magazine images, newspaper, all my empty paint bottles, even the dried paint skins from the bottle tops. To say that space is limited in my studio is a gross understatement! 😁

“Mod Podge” is basically pieces and parts of other paintings that were cut up and reconstructed and glued onto canvas, with you guessed it, Mod Podge! I also added some alcohol inks and acrylic to balance it all out.

I hope you had a great weekend, stay creative my friends!

I hope you’re selling some of these pieces or you’re gonna need a bigger garage! Love your recent works by the way. πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ¨

You never know what you’re going to use again right, I save stuff too. I always feel the vibrancy of your spirit,, the name here is so fitting❀ I haven’t painted in months since I ‘very been studying and working with others healing, this particular one makes me want to get out on the patio with my brushes tomorrow 🎨

Yay!! I hope you got your paints out and had some fun! Painting and creating is so therapeutic for me, it helps slow down my brain and gets me in touch with what matters! πŸ₯°πŸ™

That is truly a Mod Podge. Wasn’t there a show called the Mod Squad or something like that. Our Sheriff’s department has hot Cameros painted all mod they use in there teen programs.

Thanks, Tim! Yep, I vaguely remember the Mod Squad tv show! I used to have a boyfriend with a Camero, I think I only dated him so I could drive his car, so fun, it was a convertible too! 😁

He had the right idea for getting girls. My brother-in-law drove a 260z way back when. One of his friends called it “the dick mobile”.

Thanks so much for sharing my blog with your readers. πŸ™‚ I laughed when I read about “paint skins”. I scrape all my oil paint into a bucket, and I keep wondering… hmmm… what can I do with these? LOL. I know some artists save all the dried paint, mix it together with a bit of oil, and create their own “neutral” hue. I’ve done that before, but it looks so yucky! I want to find something a bit more colorful and fun to do with all my old dried paint shavings.

Happy to share! You inspire me so often, I hope that others discover your site and like your work as much as I do! I keep all my skins in a clear container, all smushed together it kind of looks like a graffiti candle! πŸ˜‚

Haha! I don’t know about zombies, but that is the beauty of abstract art, it can be whatever YOU want it to be! πŸ˜πŸ˜‰
