I really like the colors in this painting, it’s mostly alcohol ink, a little watercolor and some pen. I chose to call it “Pollen” since it has a floral look to it, which makes me think of allergies!
I took a couple days off to celebrate my 50th birthday, which was on Thursday. My husband and I enjoyed a little staycation at Humphreys Half Moon Inn here in San Diego, it was glorious! I’ve been there many times to see concerts before Covid, but this was the first time I actually stayed at the resort. We really enjoyed the saltwater pool, the beautiful grounds, and eating and drinking too much! It’s probably a good thing that you only turn 50 once!
My friends and family spoiled me with gifts, including you guessed it, art supplies! I can’t wait to play with everything, so far I only broke out the new alcohol inks, 15 new shades!!! I will likely report on my experiences with the other new goodies, stay tuned!
Happy Birthday, Tiffany. Congratulations on making the half-century mark. You share a birthday with my mom. Pollen is a wonderful painting. Enjoy all your new art supplies.

Thanks! That’s cool I share the day with your mom, didn’t you say your birthday is this month also? I can’t make enough time to play in the studio, I wish I could just do art all day long!

Dear Tiffany, I loved your painting “Pollen”, so colourful. I have never tried alcohol ink before, but now I am curious and want to try it out too. I was only in San Diego one time and I loved it there. What a beautiful place to spend your 50th. Looking forward to seeing more of your artwork. Sending you love.

Yay!! And, you can buy fancy yupo paper, but I like to use them with glossy photo paper, but any non-porus surface will do!

As a lifetime allergy sufferer itโs wonderful to see my breathing nemesis look so beautiful, Tiffany! Happy birthday! And know how great it is to get art supplies for birthday gifts, lol! Staying at a place you usually only visit for an event seems like a dream to me right now, and sounds like your stay was โbout that same way, but in real life! ๐
