Pollen

11″ x 14″ Mixed media on canvas panel

I really like the colors in this painting, it’s mostly alcohol ink, a little watercolor and some pen. I chose to call it “Pollen” since it has a floral look to it, which makes me think of allergies!

I took a couple days off to celebrate my 50th birthday, which was on Thursday. My husband and I enjoyed a little staycation at Humphreys Half Moon Inn here in San Diego, it was glorious! I’ve been there many times to see concerts before Covid, but this was the first time I actually stayed at the resort. We really enjoyed the saltwater pool, the beautiful grounds, and eating and drinking too much! It’s probably a good thing that you only turn 50 once!

My friends and family spoiled me with gifts, including you guessed it, art supplies! I can’t wait to play with everything, so far I only broke out the new alcohol inks, 15 new shades!!! I will likely report on my experiences with the other new goodies, stay tuned!

  3. Dear Tiffany, I loved your painting “Pollen”, so colourful. I have never tried alcohol ink before, but now I am curious and want to try it out too. I was only in San Diego one time and I loved it there. What a beautiful place to spend your 50th. Looking forward to seeing more of your artwork. Sending you love.

  4. As a lifetime allergy sufferer itโ€™s wonderful to see my breathing nemesis look so beautiful, Tiffany! Happy birthday! And know how great it is to get art supplies for birthday gifts, lol! Staying at a place you usually only visit for an event seems like a dream to me right now, and sounds like your stay was โ€˜bout that same way, but in real life! ๐Ÿ’•
