Somersaults

12″ x 12 Acrylic on canvas”

This abstract painting reminds me of happy children playing, rolling, running, doing somersaults and cartwheels, celebrating youth, freedom, and innocence. Ahh, to be carefree again!

This is the second painting I did in my new art studio, sitting at the table like a big girl! It’s still new and will take some getting used to, but I think I will like it. It’s just so nice to have my paints and supplies visible and within reach, it’s a game changer! Since the table is so small, I still have room to work on larger canvases on the floor, the really big stuff, and spray painting has to be done on the patio.

To create “Somersaults” I broke out some of the materials that I rarely use, because I never saw them! I found several tubes of Golden fiber paste that I had forgotten about. It gives the dry painting a soft chalky texture, almost like paper, I’m sure there are lots of ways to use it, hmmmm….

I’ve uploaded “Somersaults” to my Fine Art America site here, and it’s also available on 87 different designs in my Redbubble shop here! Of course you can always contact me directly if you have any questions!

Have an awesome weekend everyone, stay creative!
