Rockets Red Glare

9″ x 12″ Mixed media on paper

Just in time for Independence Day, “Rockets Red Glare” is my attempt at a patriotic piece. This piece is mostly alcohol ink and some watercolor on a base of soft gel gloss medium. The soft and flowy feel is contrasted with the bold bright colors of the ink.

For the record, I am not exactly feeling so proud of America at the moment. I don’t want to get political here, but I am grateful to have been born here and I have respect for all the good Americans, past and present, that fought and died for our freedoms and rights. I just hope that one day ALL Americans are treated equally and fairly and that immigrants, (like our ancestors) are welcomed with open arms.

This original artwork, and others, are available for sale on my Etsy Shop!
