I love how this collage “Lured by the Light” turned out! I found the images of vintage fishing lures in a magazine some time ago and stashed them away until I found a good way to use them. The piece also incorporates some pressed leaves, gel pens, ink, and acrylic paint, sealed with a light coating of Mod Podge to keep it all intact.
If my grandfather were alive today, this would be a gift I would present to him. He used to take me fishing often. Honestly, I didn’t really want to catch fish, it was gross and wouldn’t eat it till I was in my 30’s, but I did love being outdoors in nature, and spending time with him was priceless.
Naturally this time of year I miss my grandfather, and my dad especially. Both were so important to me and I didn’t get nearly enough time with them. But they will forever live in my heart and in my memories! Happy Father’s Day to all you dad’s out there, have a great weekend!
