Sponge

16″ x 20″ Acrylic on canvas

I hope all of my American readers enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving holiday full of friends, family and good food! And if you are like me, you are pretty tired of doing dishes about now. Yeah, I had enough.

Which reminded me of this painting that I call “Sponge” because I used an ordinary kitchen sponge to paint it, nothing technical or ingenious here. I like the way the blue and green compliment each other, and I often throw a yellow swirl in my paintings to connect the different elements.

I hope you have a great weekend, stay warm and safe my friends!

I love the contrasts between light and dark, soft and hard edges, solid and swirly! Thanks for sharing your work.

Thank you, Tim, if you can’t have fun in the studio, there’s no point!

So neat you created it this way! What’s that old saying, it’s what you do with it, whatever it is you have or use, right? Magic with simplicity, Tiffany! 😊

I like this one Tiffany – and the swirls of poured paint create a great contrast.
