We have been feeling the shift in weather here in San Diego, well kind of, it’s usually pretty nice here year round. But I do love Fall, and Halloween, and I can’t wait to start decorating for that!
To get me in the Fall spirit, I finally started this mixed media piece that’s been on my mind for a while. You see, I collected the leaves while on vacation in Colorado a couple years ago, slipped them into a book to keep flat and protected, and then completely forgot about them for a couple of years.
The friends that we were visiting in Colorado have 4 kids. The leaves were from the tree in front of their house, so, I placed a leaf for each member of the family in a circle. So it’s kind of like the circle of life, always spinning, constantly changing and growing.

The center dried leaves are from another time and place, but I love the way it looks in the middle. The blue circles add a little pop and contrast, and CO state colors include blue and red, so it all just works!
Swirling in the wind or down the drain, Leaves of Change is very appropriate for the season.

LOL! Yes, I suppose it depends on your perspective! Either way, swirling.

A beautiful piece, Tiffany! Amazing how you had those leaves all those years, and the story of how you assembled you piece – love that kind of background! Gives even more depth to a work that clearly exudes depth! ๐
