Water World

16″ x 20″ Acrylic on canvas

I’m getting ready for a big art show in a couple weeks, more details on that coming soon! As I sorted through all my paintings to decide what to show, I found this one that I did at the end of last year but I’ve never named or posted it.

I took another look at it, now I really like it! I’d say it is abstract impressionism, much resembling a water scene of some sorts. My husband and painter-namer suggested “Water World” and so it is!

As always, I love to hear your thoughts and impressions, and if you or someone you know is interested, I am happy to provide more information.

Thank you! It’s been hiding for a while, good to bring it out for our show, I think!

Your husband came up with a perfect name for the painting, as is shows the broken ribs of a sunken ship tumbling in the undercurrents of tides pulled hither and thither by the fleeting reflections of the moon.

Oh yes, I didn’t see it under-water at first, but now, with your description Tim, I do see the sunken ship! It’s so much fun to hear your interpretations!

A wonderful abstract painting & the perfect title! It’s nice when one can rediscover an earlier work with a new sense of appreciation 🙂

Always good to have naming help, naming or otherwise! 😊 Sometimes I think I’m doing all this art stuff by myself, then she’s gone doing something & I’m like, uh, uh… 😊

Yup, I definitely love this one. How many paintings do you typically take to a show?

Hi Erika! It depends, some shows only one piece, but the one I have coming up will be held in a library with lots of space, so I am looking to bring about 40 paintings! Since I have well over 200 pieces stored, I really like to display as many as I can, and hopefully sell some. I’m running out of space!
