Ruins of Light

10/12” Acrylic, gouache and ink

Care to explore the “Ruins of Light”? I was going to call it Ruins of Darkness, or Sand, but I think the light is what stands out to me. I had to stop myself from adding too much detail, I wanted to keep it strictly abstract, but I could easily make this a very specific place, a place I’m not sure I want to explore.

As I was catching up on my WP reading earlier, I ran across this post from Judy Dykstra-Brown who coincidently posted this wonderful poem with the accompanied photo that immediately reminded me of my painting that I finished yesterday, just thought I would point it out!😉

  1. OMG. We were definitely on the same mind track, Tiffany. It took me as long to find the illustration as it did to write the poem..ha. I knew I had photos of an incredible underground home carved out of the rock but I never did find it. Finally found this one which worked, as does yours.
