Since I have time, I’m all about trying to spruce up our house, without spending money and using what we have.
We planted a couple of trees and did some hardscaping with rocks. I want to surround them with some succulents and more rocks.
But the porch needed some excitement too. You might remember this painting I did a couple years ago for the same space. I like to switch it up, so I painted these wood slats with colors that complement our old house.
We have a lot of birds, bees, plants, and butterflies so I wanted to represent them in my artwork. The house also has a lot of tile stars randomly placed throughout the property, so that had to be included as well.
All in all, I’m happy with my personalized artwork update for the front porch!
That’s a great idea! I like how you incorporated different elements that you have around your homestead. It seems beautiful there with what you described. These wooden decorations turned out nice.

Thanks Pete! I should have posted a photo of the whole front yard, you can see how it all ties in together, I’ll try to remember to post one in my August favorite photos!

Are those 3 pieces canvas?

Thank you! I collect and have piles of scrap wood all over the place, a few years ago I painted a bunch of abstract “totems” and sold them at craft shows, super easy outdoor art!

Very neat. Different from your usual style. it’s nice to be able to paint for one’s home. (Though I don’t think I would hang my own work…😉) (One of my daughters does though. Couple of things for sentimental reasons…)
Take care.
