Speaking of what’s next, I have been waiting to tell you all about a new venture I’m excited about! I’ve signed up as a volunteer to teach art workshops for OUR Arts Foundation! My first workshop was scheduled for this month but it was postponed, but I have another one scheduled in May, I am so excited to get started!
OUR Arts Foundation’s mission is to nurture healing and self-empowerment through creativity by offering a variety of workshops that focus on using artistic expression.
Located in San Diego County, CA, OUR Arts works with artists who join the mission of helping survivors heal by empowering resilience through art.
OUR local artists work in collaboration with organizations helping survivors of domestic violence, trauma, sexual violence, sex trafficking, homelessness, and the foster care system.
I hope that my art experience and guidance will help these people find some joy and enlightenment even for a short time while they heal and move forward. As a survivor of abuse, I can empathize with and relate to some of their stories, and I know that art can be a great tool to get through difficult times.
OUR Arts Foundation is a non-profit entirely funded through donations and community support, if you are at all able, please donate, even one dollar can make a difference! ☺
Oh very cool Tiff, congrats

Thanks Michele!! I am so excited for the opportunity to share my art experience in my own workshops, but I also get to assist other artists and learn new mediums and techniques from them too! But, mostly, it’s about being of service, I finally found the place that I can make a difference sharing what I love!☺

You’re welcome!
Giving back to people and the community is rewarding.
When we give to others things that we need are given to us too.
Have fun with oils, acrylics, inktense, pastels, card stock and whatever else that’s in your wheelhouse.

I sure like that blue Tiffany, How specific are yout plans for a painting and how much is left to improvisation?

Thank you for asking David! I approach every blank canvas or page with zero thought or plan. Maybe a color will pop into my head first, then it depends on what is close at hand, maybe acrylic, ink, watercolor, maybe a cutting from a magazine will inspire a collage, it never ends, my desk is a wonder wall of fantastic possibilities!

Tiffany, thank you for your interesting comments. Writers who don’t plan a work often have trouble finishing it but I’m guessing you dont have that problem.

I find helping others actually helps you as well. You have to think through your own methodologies and sometimes you find what you do automatically could be improved upon. Best of Luck Tiffany.
