They remind me of the world under the sea. 🌊 lovely Tiffany. Sending big hugs and lots of love. ❤️

Yo these are bad ass ! What is the process ?

It’s so simple, Matt, it’s all about the ceramic surface! I spray a little 91% rubbing alcohol, then drop little dots of alcohol ink, and play until I like it! After they dried, I sprayed them with Liquidex spray varnish, and they are holding up well as coasters!

Thanks! If I ever find a venue to sell at, I think these would be good sellers!

Maybe try your local flea market. You’ll need a vendors license tho.

Yes, it’s more about having the time to go to the events, there are many holiday pop-ups and markets around me, but I’m too busy with other stuff right now. 😔

YES!!! Fantastic! Marvelous colors! And I love how you let them move around on their own!! (Did you blow any of them around with a straw? I like doing that with acrylic ink.) ::applause::

Thank you, Robin!!! I just ordered some more alcohol inks in new colors, the possibilities are endless!!! Yeah, I have blown and tilted, wiped off, redone, added, and diluted, the best part is that you can just spray with rubbing alcohol and wipe off and start all over if you want, it’s brilliant!!! 😉

Wooohooo! Sounds like fun! How are the fumes? I’ve been reluctant to try alcohol inks bec of them. Did you notice much?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I haven’t even noticed any fumes, maybe I’m already damaged?😂 But, really, you are only using a tiny amount at a time, so fumes haven’t been an issue at all. The most important thing is having the right surface to play on, ceramic is awesome!

Thanks, we are using a pair to test out the varnish before I sell them, and my husband keeps raving about how bright and cheery they are, we could all use some joy! ☺

Tile may have a lower cost. I’ll give it a try. I checked out the yupo paper for alcohol inks. Over the top in price for now.

Right?$ Another option to try, coat any surface (heavy paper, wood, canvas, etc.) with a coat of gel gloss, (I like Golden) let it dry, and you have a decent platform to play with liquid paint and alcohol inks! 😉

Thanks. Is Golden a varnish?

Golden is the brand of the soft gel gloss that I use!
