“Getting Down” is another abstract collage piece in my Hoodoo series where I’ve cut old paintings into rounded curved squiggly pieces and glued them into another painting. I don’t know about you, but I see creatures dancing, getting down to some groovey tunes!
I finally splurged and ordered some new art supplies!!! When I need basic stuff, I like to order from Blick for delivery since I despise shopping in stores, for anything. I selected a few new acrylic hues to play with, I have been painting with the same shades for over a year, it’s time to switch it up!
If you have a minute, please check out my Fine Art America shop where you can purchase prints and home decor featuring Getting Down, and hundreds of my other designs!
Energy! I can almost hear the music – lovely work. 😎

The ‘figures’ have a Francis Bacon feel.
As for buying on line – I do a lot myself, but it doesnt work for me when buying pastels particularly. There’s nothing like trying them out first – that way you get what you really want.

Love that you cut other paintings and glued them on. I’ve never ordered from Blick. Maybe I will try it. There are zero of those stores around here. Love that you ordered something new. I have a craft show in October and I’m *trying* to get myself to get some different paint colors. Ha ha. I love the ocean colors and pink- usually stick with those.

Yes, Jessica, you should check out the site, they have everything you can imagine, for reasonable prices! I get that most of your treasures are found in thrift stores and estate sales, but you still need the basics too! 😉
