California Wine Getaway

14″ x 11″ watercolor on paper

We needed a vacation. So much happening, stress, grief, my husband changing jobs, the news of the world, we were both feeling overwhelmed. So, without going too far or breaking the bank, we found the perfect quiet getaway to regroup at this charming Airbnb in rural Dulzura California.

Dulzura winery was established by the Clark family in 1885, and it is still run by the original family! The main house and the tasting room/guest room are two of the original buildings to the 33 acre property. For you history buffs, you can click here to read the interesting story!

This region is home to several wineries, we were really impressed with the tasting at Dulzura Winery, they offer some really nice red, white, and rose wines.

Of course I took way too many photos, these are just a few, I hope you enjoy!

All in all it was a perfect getaway. We had access to roam the entire property and vineyard, watched beautiful sunsets, enjoyed the peace quiet, and nature. Ahhhhhh!

  3. I love this! Wonderful weather, wonderful peace and quiet. My husband and I need one of these quick trips too. Too much sadness lately; too much stress and work and fixing and giving up. I think I’ll start looking around for a shot in the arm too!

    1. I didn’t even realize how much we needed it until we got there! No television. I only used my phone to take photos, and it really felt good to not focus on all the life/death stuff, just us and nature, and what is important. Recommended to everyone!
