I recently got a bunch of new paint colors and some fresh canvas to play with so I have been experimenting with colors and getting a little crazy in the studio!
I wasn’t sure what to name it but since the purple blobs are where my eyes land first, “Sugar Plums” it is! The colors might not “go together” but I personally like the contrast and discord.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with creativity and inspiration, be well my friends! 🥰🎶🙏🎨
Congratulations on this wonderful new abstract painting, Tiffany ~ very nicely done & I also like the name 👍

I think you chose a good name for it. I really like the lower and middle of the painting. I’m too sure about the top third. The bottom is light, loose and playful. The top is heavy, and solemn. It’s like a threatening storm, which maybe what you were intending.

Thanks, Tim! Yeah, that top part throws it off into a different realm, I wasn’t sure about that either. All my paintings are created intuitively, so, I almost had nothing to do with it, it’s all my alter ego! 😉🤣😁

The alter ego can certainly take things where you don’t necessarily want them to go. That’s for sure.

I love this whole piece! The contrast between top and bottom is intriguing. The name is perfect — those pops of purple colour spell delight! Well done. What kind of paints are they?

So glad the contrast pleased your eye, Louise! This is pretty much all mid-body acrylics, but I also used some pouring medium on the lower part, and I was experimenting with the high flow acrylic that is used for airbrush, that is the deep purple that you see, it’s kind of yummy!

Thank you so much, Chris! I usually do things more cohesive, but for some reason, this works for me too!

Yeah, I really like the white in the middle too. It’s a nice divider between the bottom and the top, and the colour in the bottom looks good against it.

Thanks, Margaret! I’ll let you in on a little secret, I was just trying out everything I just picked up at Blick, all-new hues and shades, different mediums, totally experimental that turned out kind of cool! 😉

Yes, it’s a great idea to do that from time to time, I think.

Rising from a neutral date, reaching higher altitudes of grace….that’s what came to me while I gazed at this piece. I love how prominent the purple is, as if it’s rising. Beautiful 😍

Yes! Definitely rising, reaching, growing. That is what we all strive to keep doing! Thanks for getting me, and helping me with the words! 🥰😉😄
