“Spice of Life” was created with watercolor, acrylic, pens, and a few of my favorite stencils. My message is; Life is full of variety, don’t be boring using the same spices day after day, mix it up a little, explore the possibilities!
I’ve had spices on my mind lately. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I finally found an awesome part time position that will supplement my income, and allow me the flexibility to keep my art gig going!
I’ve always considered cooking and blending spices an art form, so I was thrilled to accept a position with Penzeys Spices! I haven’t worked retail in 30 years, but this was too good to pass up! It’s a great company that values the safety of their employees, and I get to talk about cooking and recipes with passionate cooks!
Back in the day, I wrote a rather successful food/cooking blog for many years. It still gets a lot of traffic even though I haven’t posted anything new in years, there are some great recipes! If you are curious, I Don’t Cook, But My Boyfriend Does!
I hope you are having a great week, stay creative my friends! πβΊπ¨

I love Penzey spices! My cabinat is full of them. And what a perfect job for you. Cooking is a creative art just like painting or anything else, so you get to feed two creative muses at once!

Oh, how lucky you are, blending spices. So many wonderful smells and taste – but I guess you are not allowed to taste or?? I hope so. I love tasting food or dishes I have not tried before.

Tiffany this is an amazing piece. I just love blowing up your pieces and looking at all the beautiful detail. Congratulations on your new job sounds like a great company. I have been baking too much lately. I made cinnamon and raisin scones and we ate them in two days. Sending you lots of love sweet one. πππ€β€οΈ

Thanks so much, Joni!! Yes, I have renewed my love for cooking lately, and it can be dangerous! Cinnamon raisin scones wouldn’t even last 1 day in my house, I admire your willpower! πππ

You are so cute. That was eight good size scones. We ate four each in two days. However for thanksgiving this year I made two sweet potato pies and we ate half a pie for breakfast one day. We are pretty bad. Of course we honestly work out in the house pretty hard. Now you will wanting to be experimenting with exotic spices. How fun. I hope everyone is really cool where you are going to work. Sending you lots of love my sweet friend. The fairies will be stopping by to check out the spices. Love ya π€β€οΈJoni

My wife is always so pleased when I recognize her cooking creativity (I always do but often too busy enjoying it to be able to say anything, lol!) – you should share some of your cooking posts on your art site! But it does mix up the msg some, well, ok, a lot, but, still an idea π And I really do think food creativity has to be one of the oldest most vital of the arts β₯οΈ

The cook always appreciates compliments! π I could probably throw in a recipe or two, thanks for the idea! Blending spices really is a creative outlet, and the rewards are usually delicious!π

I didn’t realize years ago what an art cooking is! Sheila and the girls are great in our family, but now even my son and the youngest grandchild, Max, are really into it! β€οΈ I think it’d be great if you “threw” in a recipe or 2 π Might even find creative connections ‘tween your two arts! My connection is usually enjoying the great taste, lol!

Thanks so much, Jill! I’m really loving the job at Penzeys, but I’m definitely going to need a bigger spice pantry, you have no idea how many herbs and spices I didn’t know I needed!π€£
