Trauma

12″ x 12″ Mixed media collage on canvas

It was really difficult to get a good photograph of this painting. There are a lot of shiny parts. In addition to acrylic and watercolor, I incorporated some scrap pieces of glossy photo paper splashed with alcohol inks, and I used some silver metallic paint.

As for the completed overall painting, I see an underwater scene, light emanating from above, and below might be jagged rocks revealing the remnants of a violent and bloody confrontation. Of course it could be something else entirely, or nothing at all. It’s what ever you want it to be!

I do like the underwater feeling. Which to me is comforting and soothing. I’ve loved to swim all my life and this looks like an undersea environment I’d like to explore.

I see broken glass and blood. Blue is a peaceful word and color for poets. I see the sea as well but I see the traumatic association with the ocean. Beautiful piece.

Stunning blue hues….love your interpretation of the painting. I saw an underwater view, but had’t decided the red aspect and then I read your description….

I like this one particularly – it has the feel of a digital work

Thanks a bunch, Graham! Indeed, I see what you mean, and digital art is something I have never attempted!
