Bats in the Belfry

14″ x 11″ acrylic on canvas

I think it’s the appropriate time of year to break this one out, a little spooky, if bats spook you, I personally happen to think they are cute!

Like many teens, I had a vampire phase, mostly because I liked, was obsessed with, David Bowie. I discovered the 1983 movie The Hunger with Catherine Deneuve, Susan Sarandon and David Bowie, fascinating story actually. That was all it took, I was infatuated with vampires. I painted and drew them, read every book I could find about them, dressed like them, yeah, obsessed.

Anyway, I grew out of that phase but I still really like bats, and I also like “Bats in the Belfry”. If you like it too, you can buy it, or a print of it, heck you can even buy a coffee mug or a t-shirt with the image on it. Just send me an email, I can set you up!

  1. Beautifully batty. It really is a wonderful painting. Light and dark at the same time. I liked vampires when I was a kid, but my vampires were based soley on Dracula.

  2. Such a great background to your image, Tiffany! I’d seen the pic yesterday & it intrigued me but I couldn’t place my finger on what or why, lol! Today I took one glance & what I saw was the top of a pixie headed little girl with bows throughout her hair, all covering a nightly mischievous twinkle in her eye. But I can see bats now, lol! If you have a pic of u dressed as a bat u should post it, I think it’d be neat! ❤️
