Backyard Photography in January

I had some fun with the camera the other day! It is rare that we get rain in San Diego and we have gotten a lot lately, so I felt compelled to wander in the yard to, A) pour out the standing water sources, and B) find something pretty to photograph!

An old deteriorating abalone shell caught my eye, and became my muse for awhile, its bright iridescent colors still shine through after all these years. I also found some submerged rusty screws and forgotten rocks to entertain me. I thought the contrast was intriguing.

Crazy how over 100 photos were narrowed down to just a handful that I feel are worthy of sharing! I hope you enjoy!
