Eyes Of The World

16″ x 20″ Mixed media on canvas

This was a fun painting to create! Painted with fingers and my knife, things got a little messy! Especially since I threw in some pouring medium and ended up with a lot of excess goop! Some of it was transferred to other projects, but the majority of it ended up all over me!

I’m so excited to see Dead & Co. tomorrow night! Some of you may know that I used to follow the Grateful Dead religiously in the 80’s and 90’s, some of the best times of my life! The last time we saw Dead & Co. was in Eugene Oregon in 2018, it’s time!!!

“Eyes of the World” is a song written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter back in 1973 or so. Some songs are timeless, this is one of them.

“Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
The heart has it’s beaches, it’s homeland and thoughts of it’s own
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the morning brings
But the heart has it’s seasons, it’s evenings and songs of it’s own.”

  1. Although I never saw The Grateful Dead, I loved their albums back in the day, and still listen to them, actually today I was listening to Mars Hotel…cheers Tiffany and a lovely post to bring back good memories! I like this work, it shows a lot of depth and organisation.

    1. Thank you, Francisco! That’s great that you still like the Dead, most people don’t really get into them until they see them live! I’m really excited about the show, it’s been a couple of years since I’ve seen any live music! 🎼

  2. Eye, eye that’s a fantastic piece you got your fingers into. You were a deadhead? One of the architects who used to work with us was a deadhead ringer for Jerry Garcia. He used to come along to meetings and presentations with us and sit at the back of the room, rarely participating. One time a client asked “Who’s the guy that looks like Jerry Garcia who came in with you?” I said “Jerry Garcia! He likes getting out and away from everything.” The guy was stunned. Then I told him I was joking.

  3. Way cool mixed media artwork, Tiffany! I see a face wearing sunglasses and wild hair…Jerry? Have a great show tomorrow, my friend 😎🎶🎵 Love the lyrics, and that the mouse at the Dead & Co. web site is the Steel Your Face graphic ✌

  4. I`m happy that the world is opening up again, and we can do “things”. Enjoy the concert!. The painting looks like a steel mask to me. Polished steel that reflects the surroundings.

  5. Yea, great work Tiffany. I always love the colors you use. This has a lot of depth to it. Nice!!!!

Wow a concert, you go girl, they actually started their concert in Raleigh, 45 minutes from here. You will have fun. Most of my concerts I attended were by myself at the University of KY. I can’t believed I did that now. Take some pictures Tiffany for us will you? Have a blast and be safe. Love you sweetie ❤️🤗🌹🦋🎉🎊🎉🎊

      1. I hear you. I use to go by myself to concerts because I always felt like I could get out quickly if I needed to. Terrible fear of fire. I saw Crosby and Nash once and I will never forget it. Saw Billie Eilish and Cat Stevens aka Yusuf Stevens in Beverly Hills three years ago at a Sean Penn event. The sad thing was I had such a migraine that I just couldn’t wait to get out of there. I loved Cat Stevens early work especially. He sounded exactly the same, I wish I would have felt better. Sending my love, glad you got back safely. ❤️🤗🌹💕
