Street Level

12″ x 12″ Mixed media on canvas

It’s rare for me to paint anything figurative but sometimes I see a shape or object and I enhance it, which is what happened with this mixed media painting. It’s mostly acrylic, but I also used some oil pastels to add some details.

“Street Level” is what I would call abstract impressionism. I see a large building with big glass windows all lit up from the inside. The building has a rounded corner, and maybe that’s a guy riding a bicycle down the dark street after a light rain? Could it be, perhaps, a scene from a New Orleans street front?

I’d be curious if you see anything different?

Have a great week everyone! 🌞🎨🌼

  1. Wonderful work, Tiffany 😍 I think that the curved lines of the rounded building leads ones eye towards the downtown area, and the bicyclist on a liner pathway reinforces that movement. Have a great week!

  2. I can see you`re street and the cyclist.
I think it`s a foggy night. Clothes are hanging on clotheslines between the houses. I feel put back in time. Maybe because of the blue, it makes me think of night/dark.
The house could also be an old ship and the person cycling down the harbour.

  3. I think I see many of the same things, Tiffany – the bicyclist, the semblance to New Orleans (and Paris!) and can feel the glow of both places with all their sensuousness and mystery! Which is very much you! ❤️ Tweeted! 😊

    1. Haha! Yes, I seriously thought I saw someone riding a big wheel too!!! 🤣 And it’s extra weird that the Shinning keeps popping up in my world this week, it may be time to watch it and get all freaked out again!

  4. I love this piece so much. I see the rounded building with 3 levels. The top 2 have balconies. I get the feeling of a street late at night after everything is shutting down. The street has cleared while shop owners close and lock up. Fantastic work.
