Bursting With Pride

This original mixed media collage is Bursting With Pride and colors!!! With a whimsical flair, the floral mandalas feature bold colors and contrast against the strips of newsprint to create art any bohemian spirit would love to admire!

The month of July is Pride month here in San Diego. If you are not familiar, that is when we celebrate and support our LBGT community. Before the pandemic, there was a huge parade and parties all over town. A lot of people wave rainbow flags, dress in rainbow colors, and basically let your freak flag fly, which is all right by me! This year will be toned down with smaller celebrations spread out, in fact, they have already started!

It’s also the month in which we celebrate the Fourth of July, the date the United States officially became free from Great Britain’s rule in 1776. It’s always a big celebration and there are always fireworks!

To comemorate the two major events, I am happy to present my mixed media piece “Bursting With Pride” a 9″ x 12″ mixed media painting on paper! I hope that the world learns to accept all ways of life and embrace those who chose to be different than the norm. Practice tolerance, empathy and love all!!!🏳‍🌈🌈❤🧡💛💚💙💜
