Convoluted Structure

9″ x 12″ Mixed media collage on watercolor paper

I’m terrified of structures. Buildings, bridges, the entire infrastructure. It can all collapse at any moment, the earth could open up and we could all get sucked into oblivion. True story. But, until then, here is an abstract mixed media collage full of life and happy colors!

You know I love to mix it up! Here, I used watercolor, acrylic, alcohol ink, magazine strips, and some cut up paintings. It’s a small piece, but prints are available in a multitude of sizes at my Fine Art America site!

Beautiful framed and matted!

  1. The earth could open up and we could all get sucked into oblivion? I’m not sure that’s a true story but oblivion might be better than we imagined. 😱😱😱

  2. LOVELOVELOVE this!!! It’s making fingertips want to touch each texture! And the colors!! 👏♥️👏 You’ve taken all the positive possibilities in cities/structures and made them SING together!!! By the way – the last time I was in a big city was 1983 – had to go for business – nearly fainted when I looked up at the behemoths towering over me. We met in a very tall building and the entire time I was sure it was going to collapse. Not sure when or why I started feeling that way; used to visit Phila. frequently when I was a kid, no problems. Anyway, I get it: impending doom. ((hugs)) What you’ve done here is to make me happy to see the buildings. It’s wonderful! 👏👏👏👏👏

    1. Thank you for helping me not feel so alone, Robin! Yeah, it’s a real thing and I don’t know why or when for me either. I avoid all tall buildings and bridges whenever possible, heck, even two-story houses! 🤪😬🥴
