Layers of Paris

9″ x 12″ Mixed media on paper

No, I haven’t been to Paris, (yet!) but I’ve always been fascinated with the Eiffel Tower. The history, the romance, the stories it could tell! I wonder how many marriages began there? ❤

I was just playing with some stencils that I haven’t used yet, and I laid this one of the Eiffel Tower down over a mish mash of stenciled mandalas, which I’ve been using a lot lately. I love the symbolism of the mandala, and these colors remind me of history. Layers and layers, like the history of an ancient city, imagine the tales!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! We have just been ordered back into lockdown here in California, no surprise since so many foolish and selfish people decided to have large gatherings at Thanksgiving. Back into the cave….. if I didn’t have my artwork, I don’t think I could survive this.

  1. I like the painting. The Eiffel Tower is interesting, but it’s not in the best part of town. When we were in Paris in 2013 we got to go up a couple of levels, but it was too windy, so they didn’t allow us to go to the top. When we were in Paris in 2018, they were working on the tower, so it was fenced off with limited access. There are some points where you can get iconic views of the tower. When all this mess is over, you need to visit Paris. You would love it.

  2. It’s true, we’re so lucky to have our art to help carry us! And what a wonderful creation you’ve put together here, Tiffany! We’ve only been to Paris twice, but this reflects so much of the energy and love we there! You guys would love it there! 😊
