The Belly of the Beast

12″ x 16″ x 1.5″ Acrylic on canvas

There are several beasts in this painting, depending on how you look at it. One of them is a pelican, and if you use your imagination, you might see the inside of his belly and the contents of his lunch.

Seeing how our oceans and waterways are grossly polluted, his lunch probably contains bits of plastic and toxic matter that will undoubtedly be the cause of his demise, among other wildlife, and eventually, humanity.

Until there are some major changes in environmental conservatory our demise is inevitable, but we can all help make a difference! Please visit the Surfrider Foundation website and read these 10 ways to rise above plastics and help reduce your plastic footprint! We must take action, NOW.
